In its 16th year the Metcalfe Charity Classic in support of the Osgoode Care Centre is still setting records.

On July 13, 136 golfers participated at this year’s event, also commemorating the 40th anniversary of the golf club.

Through entry fees, raffles, auctions, and various contests and sponsorships the event was able to raise a one-year record donation of $13,000, bringing the total funds generated for the local care facility in the event’s history to over $114,000. David Eggett, Chair of the Board of Directors, accepted the donation cheque on behalf of the Osgoode Care Centre and thanked the players, sponsors, and the Metcalfe Golf Club for the support.

After the dinner enjoyed by all Metcalfe General Manager Rob Howell provided those in attendance with details on the history of the club.

While the intent of the event was to raise funds for the designated charity, there were also some prize winners on the day.
