Eastern Ontario Women’s Try Golf Series Programs Looking For Participants

After a successful debut, a program initiated by Golf Ontario and now in Eastern Ontario and is still seeking more participants.

The Women’s Try Golf Series is offered at sites around the province and focusses on providing a fun and welcoming way to introduce women to the game of golf.

“We are thrilled to be introducing Golf Ontario’s Women’s Try Golf events to the Ottawa region!,” says Carol Ann Baxter, Golf Ontario Ottawa Valley Region Manager. “Based on the premise of ‘try it you’ll love it’, we want ladies to give golf a try. These are organized late-afternoon/evening events with the focus on fun and socializing with a little bit of golf thrown in.”

Baxter shared that the most repeated comments by participants from their June 21 event at the Metcalfe Golf Club included the feeling of “no pressure”, and “felt so comfortable”. That is exactly what the event is all about.

Events include pre-event video tips, a registration gift, clubs, balls and tees for everyone in need, 9 holes of golf in a relaxed team scramble format, and a post event beverage.

The cost for each participant is $30 + HST, with the fees going right back to the host facility.

PGA of Canada Professional Katie Walker is the lead instructor.
